Application Process / Renewal Process

Application to become to Diplomate in School Neuropsychology follows a three step process:

  1. Credential Review
  2. Written Objective Exam
  3. An Oral Exam over a Submitted Work Sample

The total fee to apply for board certification is $600, payable in increments, as outlined below.

Step I - Credential Review

The application process begins with the submission of a membership application along with a non-refundable application fee of $250.

The membership application will be reviewed by a group of ABSNP Board members to determine eligibility for the written exam.

Applicants must be state credentialed (certified or licensed) as a school psychologist or be a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) or be a Diplomate in School Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Step II - The Written Examination

There is a $150 fee for the written exam. Written exams (Study Guide) will be scheduled to coincide with the annual NASP and APA conventions or other mutually convenient times across the country.

Step III - A Work Sample

After passing the written exam, the candidate will be asked to submit a written work sample for review.

Upon passage of the Work Sample, there will be a $200 fee to issue the Diplomate Certificate.
