Welcome to the Third National School Neuropsychology Conference website! This conference is being sponsored by the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP). The ABSNP was established in 1999 as a means of credentialing school neuropsychologists. By the start of this conference the board will have over 400 board certified school neuropsychologists across the country. School neuropsychologists have been anxious to have a national conference for the past several years. The 1990s was called the decade of the brain by the U.S. Congress. With each passing year, researchers are discovering stronger ties to the neurological bases for behavior and learning. The purpose of this conference is to bring together a nationally known group of speakers in the emerging field of school neuropsychology and share the latest research, theory, and intervention strategies with other school neuropsychologists, educational diagnosticians, and educators.

The Embassy Suites - Outdoor World Hotel was chosen as the conference site for several reasons. First of all, the hotel is less than a 5 minute, free shuttle ride away from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The airport is a major hub and is centrally located in the country. Secondly, please think of this location as a vacation destination for the whole family. The hotel is attached to Outdoor World which is a shoppers delight if you like any outdoor activities from golf, to camping, fishing, hunting, etc. The Great Wolf Lodge opened in January, 2008 which is within a mile of the conference hotel. This is an indoor water park that is second to none and a great family destination. Across the street from the hotel is the Grapevine-Mills Outlet Mall (shoppers need I say more). The mall has restaurants (e.g., Rainforest Cafe), a 24 screen movie theater, a Steven Spelberg video arcade, an ice skating rink (yes you can ice skate in Texas in the summer), an indoor skateboarding facility, and over a hundred outlet stores. Every room in the hotel is a suite with two rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. The room rate includes complimentary made to order breakfast each day.The hotel is within easy driving distance of championship golf courses (e.g., The Dallas Cowboys Golf Course), Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor (a water park), multiple lakes for boating and fishing activities, and multiple museums in both Dallas and Ft. Worth.

I hope you will join us at this outstanding event. Come to learn, have fun, and network with colleagues!
